A collaborative effort between SNEHA, World Bank, and the Government of Kerala to ensure sustainable access to clean water and improved sanitation facilities for rural communities.
The World Bank is providing assistance to Govt. of Kerala for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project under Jalanidhi phase II programme. The principal objective of the Jalanidhi programme is to assist GOK in increasing the access of rural communities to improve and sustainable drinking water supply and sanitation.
This project is implementing with the Technical Support of NGOs (SO) through Grama Panchayaths and Beneficiary Committees constituted for this purpose. The SO is an organisation which will be selected by the Grama Panchayath from among the panel approved by KRWSA.
Edachery Grama Panchayath selected SNEHA as their SO for implementing Jalanidhi project in their area. The SO is providing technical, capacity building, social development, financial & accounting and procurement support.
People living in Edacheri Grama Panchayath, reaching hundreds of households and improving the quality of life for the entire community.
To implement sufficient Drinking water supply schemes, Ground water recharging and sanitation programmes for sustainable community development.
Concurrent monitoring review meetings by NGO and KRWSA to ensure effective implementation and optimal resource utilization.
SNEHA employs a comprehensive community-based approach to implement the Jalanidhi project, focusing on sustainability and community ownership.
